1. Check if the COM port is selected correctly

2. Check if another USB port works

3. Check if the cable is broken

4. Try to install the UART USB drivers from https://www.silabs.com/products/development-tools/software/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers

5. Install the driver manually: https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-devkit/tree/master/Drivers (Choose according to your platform, of course)

6. Try on another computer
